Please enlighten me. Because there are so many various theories on what constitutes “excellent” diet, it’s difficult for me to separate fact from fantasy. The amount of money I would have amassed if I had a $1 for every time this or a similar comment was said to me

To answer this question, I can only say that good old-fashioned nutrition has come out on top in the most recent studies. When I say “old fashioned,” I mean it in the sense of being from a time when your mother told you to eat your vegetables and made sure you ate two to three pieces of fruit a day. She made sure you got three square meals a day, as well as a few healthy snacks, from what I can recall. Fast food, soft drinks or sodas, sweets, cakes, or lollies were only seen on the weekends or once a month when you went on a picnic, they were not daily dietary habits. Those who worked hard and stayed up late to play games with their children in those days are also proving to be a long-lived generation.

The only starchy grains we should be consuming are wholegrains, not those white overprocessed grains with the nutritious properties of cardboard. They are rich in life-giving energy, lipids (found in the germ), and fiber, which are essential for good health and a long, active life.
